  1. Carole says:

We go back to our Source – back to the Oneness that is God.

  2. [...] there an afterlife? Where is it? Where do we go after death? Why do we need an [...]

  3. dr.Ruhi Khan says:

after our death we are placed in the graves and the grave behaves differently for good and bad people.it enlarges and gives fresh air from heaven to God fearing people and torments in different ways the sinners. There is a entity or spritual space where we remain till the day of judgement (known as burzaq)when all creatures will be raised again in front of Almighty Allah for reconning and they will be placed in hell or heaven depending on their deeds on earth and the mercy of almighty God.

  4. Cubie World says:

But if the ONE returns to all things then we are likely after returning to the Source, to find ourselves broadcast out, willy-nilly, back into the myriad things we thought we were bidding adieu to. No celestial vacation I’m afraid for any of us!

  5. Cubie World says:

Another take on this. Tosotsu gave us three “barrier” koans, the third of which asks where do we go after the light of our eyes falls to the ground (death).

So if we answer this question, we have Tosotu’s happy approval. But a question. So if we do know this ultimate destination, but can’t find our wallet after getting on the bus, what knowledge do we want more at that moment, the bus destination or our wallet?

  6. Robert says:

Another way of putting this question is: Where were you before you were born? I’d think that “location” is the same place to which we return at death: Nowhere; a state of nonexistence.

As near as can be determined so far, all that we are is as a result of the electro-chemical soup in our brains, and all of it is driven by our beating heart. Once the ticker stops, so do we. This is uncomplicated and uncontroversial.

  7. Kooz says:

“We,” being our mind, go nowhere. We simply cease to exist.

  8. Jeff says:

Wherever we were before we were born.

  9. Terry says:

There are only two possible options. We are alive or we are dead. This exhausts all other possible options. We weren’t alive before our birth so we must have been dead and when we die we will once again be dead. Having been dead for an unlimited amount of time before my birth, I don’t recall it being uncomfortable. When you die you will never know you ever existed.

  10. If we cease to exist after death what is the point of or lives on earth. what is this conscience which forbids us from evil deeds? This is simply the fear and at the same time love for the almighty GOD.

  11. Federico Pizarro says:

a happy place i like to call a grave
