All religions and religious people should be challenged. Obviously not in an offensive manner but in a way that they must be able to support their ideas to ensure that everyone is an independent thinker. Blind faith alone is ridiculous.
Religion should not be given a special status above any other ideas. No system, religion, science, philosophy or politics has proven its ability to come up with a set of solutions or best practices for all potential problems.
I think that all religions should be banned! People can do bad things all by themselves, without the “push” of religion.
Religion should absolutely be challenged! A law has just been enacted in a certain foreign province which forbids the wearing of tight pants by women. Additionally, loose pants must now be covered with a long shirt – no shirts untucked ! How can something like this not be challenged ? The answer is death threats and stoning.
The path to god is never a boring one.Why are there multible dimentions
.God is multidimentional.
Some faiths beleive in total nudity in public.
Obviously not in the Arab ,Muslim World.Everyone is naked under clothing. There is nothing shameful about human skin. It is all in a sick mind thought that it would be.
Clothing is nessary for protection.
Every human being has different experiances and teachings that are carried in our DNA,from the begining of time.
Man has created many different religions in order share a common guidance system. To protect man from his Satanic thoughts.
That we are traped in dualitiy.
Even if it is stated that this or that religion is a guidance from the Almighty.
Still it takes a man to interperate that religion and people and governments of differernt opinions to carrie through with worship practices,
Try as you may,you will always find Anarchists born within every religion.
Loud or silent, thats just the way it is. .
What it all simmers down to is that there is One Creator and one faith, and many religions.
You will never have an exact duplicate of practice in any religion.
So we will have many dreams and journey’s within one lifetime.
. If a person has discovered the path he want’s to get closer to the Divine and it feels good ,and remaines steadfast in faith his chosen path.
He/she, will not suffer the bumps and falls as many of us do.
Without being completely mad and delusional, Happiness is still a state of mind.
Quite simply if we are supposed to strive to be “One with the Divine “the path we take to get there is a very entertaining process indeed .
For God as well as our human lower selves.
Yes. There are alot of negative religions as well as alot of people who twist religions to their purposes. By questioning religions, you will hopefully be left with only positive religions.
Everything should be challenged, continuously. It will improve our chances for survival.
Every human belief should be challenged
Every day in every way, the same as any other truth claim.
Yes, religions should be challenged, because the truth can withstand questioning. Religions fall apart when questioned.
Yes. Including mine.
Yes. Openly and clearly if the religious folks in question are unlikely to murder you for asking too many questions. More quietly if they are up to their usual tricks.
Religion should be challenged today because they are being misused by the greedy few to manipulate the masses into committing mass murder ie; wars, for their own selfish financial gain.
Religions which harness the power of ones ‘inner self’ to enable that individual to stay happy despite any hardship which is thrust upon the individual is a good religion. Religions that use fear and authority to beat the masses into subservience should be condemned.
Should religion be challenged? Everything should be challenged.
All propositions should be challenged. This is how we come by actual knowledge.
Propositions should be especially challenged if they make fantastic claims and their adherents can produce no evidence to back up those claims.
Propositions should be vehemently challenged if they make fantastic, unsupported claims and their adherents attempt to enact or influence public policy because of them.
Religion is very often one of these types of propositions.
I once went to my uncle, who is a Methodist preacher, when I was young, and lost and looking for spirituality.
I told him, “Uncle, I don’t know how to be part of religion. I’m told that I am to have faith, that the bible is perfect, that I don’t have to be shown, but should simply believe. I don’t think I can do that.”
He answered, “Blind faith isn’t perfect faith, it’s simply blindness. God is flattered by your questions, and your search.”
I’ve not found God, but his answer would certainly be the one that I’d expect if a God does in fact exist.
Yes. We didn’t know the world was round until we challenged that it might not be flat. People think what they want, until we challenge the old ways of thinking, we won’t make progress towards the truth.
Thank you for this blog. Thats all I can say. You most definitely have made this blog into something speciel. You clearly know what you are doing, youve covered so many corners.see you
All religions are challenged! The people within the religion can also challenge their own religion. Many possibly do not. Challenges are accepted or defended depending on the individual’s lifetime experience, thoughts and feelings. Some who challenge may find a greater understanding – either to accept a religion or find another more acceptable.
Religion should be challenged remorselessly.
Absolutely! We people are like sheep, we will fall over the cliff if all the sheep in front are falling over the cliff. We are stupid. We will follow anyone. So we need to think and question and seek and not just gullibly, blindly, follow anything we have been taught. We should challenge our educational system, our scientific research, our bringing up, our religion. Only then can God get our attention so that maybe we will hear HIS VOICE above all the other voices.
Of course. EVERYTHING should be challenged. Why should religion get a break?
Science, religion, tradition…all should be challenged.
While it is necessary to trust in what we know, and in each other, we should not blithely assume that all we currently know is all that we can ever know. As we learn, what we know will change. As what we know changes, so too must our perspectives of such things.
It is lunacy to continue to do a thing simply because it was done that way by others, or because it was always so before.
I challenge religion every day of my life… to the chagrin of my wife and friends. I’m a shiite anti-theist. (thanks Hitch) Mythology (religion) has no place in the rational story of who we are. God was created by man… not the other way around. (thanks again Hitch) Everyone is an atheist… (unless someone still believes in Apollo and Thor.) Gods will continue to be cast aside until we finally arrive at the actual number of them. Which is zero.
Everything should be challenged. To suggest that religions should be exempt from inquiry would be to admit outright they are frail in comparison to reason.
Yes, if you care that what you believe is actually true, you should most certainly question religion.
Religions have been challenged since their inception. Religion tried to fight the heliocentric theory with doctrine. It tried to silence those who postulated the existence of planets other than Earth with pain and death. Today it fights against the teaching of the central theory of Biology. Religion will continue to be dragged, kicking and screaming, toward modern sensibilities.
Yes, religion should be challenged. Blind faith and irrational beliefs should not be acceptable. Fortunately there are reasonable religions that can act as examples. Unfortunately they do not come from the middle east.
Its purpose should be rigorously and at a constant. There was a time when religion was used to explain the way the world works. We now have science for that. There was a time it was used to provide us with a moral compass. We now have law for that. In science and law, we better our beliefs by challenging them. Religions are capable of internal revision, but only to a point. So there’s hardly any point in trying to better them.
Belief in gods should be fully exposed to all people for what they really are. Allah, god, yahwey, zeus and roger rabbit are all cartoon characters existing outside of time and space in a fictional fantasy world. The religious cults that are manifest by these magical fictional characters should be banned. There should at least be laws to protect the children from these horrendous deceptions until they reach the age of 21.
Not necessory, some times its better to be ignorent.
Yes, intellectually. Not violently or militantly.
Well, duh! When something threatens the ultimate existence of your species, you damn well better challenge it.
Why challenge religion? It is pointless to challenge peoples cherished beliefs they need them, many have died for their beliefs and will continue to die for their religious beliefs. So be kind and leave them alone. Yet, most religions won’t leave you alone they may destroy the civilized world as we know it.
Better to challenge ourselves and develop our own awareness. No person can change or grow unless they are open and ready to change their cherished beliefs.
cause it is incorrect and counter-productive
